People have been using mantra as a means for physical, mental and spiritual transformation for over 5,000 years. Think about that.
We are vibrational beings. Our world is vibrational. When we chant in Sanskrit we are balancing, purifying and aligning our energy systems and vibrational field. A steady mantra practice can be transformational on so many levels. I have found that it allows me to connect to an innermost place deep inside myself and at the same time, something far greater than myself that I am intrinsically a part of.
As a practice, it is pranayama (breath work), meditation and sound healing all in one.
This course will focus on the attributes of mantra such as Sanskrit pronunciation, meter, and force as well as an understanding of the translations so that you can connect more deeply to your intentions while chanting. I will also incorporate stories from the pantheon of Vedic Gods and Goddesses to help give context to those archetypal energies that are very much alive within each one of us.
This course is open to all yoga teachers and students with a sincere interest in mantra.
No prior experience in Sanskrit or chanting is necessary.
